Aleppo – Sound and Picture
Yesterday, the Syrian opposition factions, north of Aleppo, launched a security clampdown in an attempt to arrest elements follow IS who made attacks against opposition factions in that area.
“Sound and Picture” reporter in Aleppo countryside said: “Al-Shamia front and the Islamic Ahrar Al-Sham movement launched a campaign to arrest everyone associated or has a previous connections with IS, especially IS former members, in the northern countryside of Aleppo, who left IS after its withdrew a year ago, the factions have arrested more than 25 people in less than 24 hours, and the campaign continues to this day.”
“The clampdown will not be stopped until eliminating all of those cells which form source of danger to the armed factions and the people of the northern countryside of Aleppo”, said a security official from Al-Shamia front.
The security operation launched by the opposition factions came after repeated breaches IS. Two days ago, some of IS members managed to access Mare’e city, one of the biggest cities in Aleppo, and opened fire indiscriminately causing the deaths of a number of civilians and elements belonging to Al-Shamaia Front. “
Ahmed, from northern Aleppo countryside, said: ” the security campaign is a necessity at this point specially after the appearance of many of IS cells, which carry out assassinations of factions leaders and spread car bombs, as well as facilitate the entry IS to the northern countryside of Aleppo”.
It is worth mentioning that the opposition factions have engaged in daily battles with IS which is trying hard to control the northern countryside of Aleppo, taking advantage of military factions weakness, specially the Aleppo liberation operational chamber
